China opposes military option on Syria

China has stressed its opposition to any military intervention in Syria while condemning the use of chemical weapons as a violation of international laws.According to Xinhua, Beijing disapproves of military interventions in any country and that position is also consistent and clear, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said at a press briefing on Friday. Hua called on all Syrian parties to seek a political solution as the only correct way to resolve the crisis in the Arab country, urging an immediate end to all violence there. Hua said China “firmly opposes” the use of chemical weapons regardless of who uses it, describing it as a violation of “international law and principles widely upheld by the international community.” The remarks came in response to Western countries accusing the Syrian government of using chemical weapons, and their attempts for a military option on the prolonged crisis in Syria. Meanwhile, Syrian Information Minister Umran Ahid al-Za’bi said Damascus wants an investigation on the alleged use of chemical weapons be carried out by Russian experts
