STATEMENT ON ATTACKS IN BAGHDAD, MADINAH AND QATIF

STATEMENT ON ATTACKS IN BAGHDAD, MADINAH AND QATIF

Majlis-e-Ulama-e-Shia (Europe) condemns in the strongest possible terms the heinous, barbaric, inhumane, shocking and cowardly suicide bomb attack in Karrada, Baghdad, on 3rd July 2016, which killed more than 200 civilians and injured hundreds more, including many children, as they shopped and prepared for Eid celebrations.

Such a heinous and brutal crime is beyond anybody’s comprehension and is of unparalleled proportions. Such an act demonstrates again that the greatest victims of Daesh are Muslims, and this shows their wanton intentions to annihilation and destroy Muslims.

The perpetrators of this inhumane attack have also demonstrated that they are not proponents of any Islamic theology; they are enemies of Islam and Muslims.

As the injured and families of the victims reel from this great tragedy, we pray to Allah (s.w.t.) for souls of the deceased, and we pray that the injured heal quickly, and we pray that He gives support and patience to the families of the victims who have lost many close and dear ones in this great calamity. And we pray to the Almighty that He strikes the perpetrators down with his vengeance and destroys Daesh and all their supporters and agents. We pray for His support for those who are sacrificing their lives defending Iraq and Syria from this plague called Daesh.

Majlis-e-Ulama-e-Shia (Europe) also condemns the attack in Qatif, Saudi Arabia, against a Shia congregation, and the attack in the holy city of Madinah, the city of the Holy Prophet of Islam (s.a.w.s.). This demonstrates clearly that Daesh and such parties have no space in their hearts for the sanctity of the holy city of Madinah and the grave of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.).

We pray again to Allah Almighty to destroy these callous and barbaric terrorists and all those who gave rise to them, fed their perverted theology and sponsored and supported them.
