And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favour of Allah upon you – when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favour, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be
guided. 3:103
When we zero in on oceanic waves long enough, we cannot help but unravel a cohesive structure behind the apparent chaos that forms these waves of different shapes and sizes. The calmness at the onset resulting into the boisterous rage robust enough to obliterate everything in its path, breaking onto the coastal zones all the while denoting different aspects of its reality holds a powerful message outside the sphere of the cognizance of commoners i.e. the power of Unity.
Albeit we do not deserve Divine benedictions, but Allah’s mercy encompasses us all in various forms. Among such bestowals are the true scholars whose personalities exemplify altruism engulfing almost every sphere of their lives. Dr. Kalb e Sadiq marhoom was among the rare breed of those religious scholars who dedicated his whole life in service of Islam and bringing various groups of people together by promoting the message of love, peaceful and honourable co-existence. In the field of philanthropy, education, reformation and proselytization of Islam, he was one of the unquestioned authority among his contemporaries. He founded numerous educational and charitable projects that have benefitted people from various spheres of life.
Above all, Dr. Kalb e Sadiq stressed on the unity among Muslims specifically and human beings in general and until his last breath he continued incessantly to remove intercommunal frictions and bigotry that came about as the by-product of ignorance. Ignoring all sorts of detraction from the somewhat less useful bunch of individuals, he exhibited a laser focus towards his mission and did not let any obstacle distract him from his course. Words cannot describe the enormity of Dr Kalb e Sadiq’s personality and his strenuous work throughout his life.
It is with a heavy heart that we have lost Dr. Kalb e Sadiq today as His soul has returned to Our Creator, leaving his loved ones and the entire Shia nation in a state of inexplicable sorrow. In this day and age, Dr. Kalb e Sadiq was indeed one of the sapiential hallmarks whose humility, simplicity, wisdom and faithfulness touched the hearts and souls of millions of Shias worldwide and reformed the personalities and characters of those who sought his guidance with earnest intentions. A star has faded today, a light extinguished, but not before clearing the mist of the cold darkness that shrouded us. Conscientious amongst us should pay heed to his lectures, way of living and his way of dealing with fellow human beings in order to get closer to Ahlul Bayt a.s. and Allah ultimately.
